Helen has 20 years of experience in the NHS. 15 of these years were working as a specialist musculoskeletal senior physiotherapist in an out patient department. She has a wide breadth of knowledge, extensive skills and a specialist interest in acupuncture and sports injuries.

About Us
At Qiphysiotherapy one of the ways we aim to achieve recovery, pain relief and rehabilitation is through a comprehensive initial assessment. We will take the time to listen to you and ensure we have full understanding of your pain and problems and what you hope to achieve with physiotherapy. We will carry out a thorough objective ‘hands on’ examination and from this will aim to give you a clinical diagnosis and plan of treatment.
There are so many diagnoses that physiotherapy can help with however if we think additional help is needed, for example regarding referral onwards to orthopaedics, we can certainly help you in the right direction and liaise with your general practitioner when needed.

Helen McKay
Specialist Physiotherapist
Helen qualified in 2002 with a BSc Hons in physiotherapy from the University of Northumbria.
She spent her initial first years completing junior rotations for an all-round knowledge base, before deciding to specialize in musculoskeletal. She has 15 years of experience working in a busy out patient department treating patients of all ages with an immense range of injuries and conditions. She has rheumatology and orthopaedic experience and is skilled in exercise prescription.
This wealth of experience will ensure that she can identify and diagnose your problem and develop a treatment plan and goals to ensure your recovery and rehabilitation. Having now set up her own clinic and incorporating home visits in to her days allows more time than the NHS potentially offered so that she can do what she loves and ‘treat’ her patients!
